About
the event
The second Ageing Deal Joint Event, held on 23 April 2026 in Rome, brought together European projects, experts and policymakers to advance a shared vision for healthier, more inclusive and sustainable ageing across Europe. Building on the work of the EU-funded projects COMFORTage Project, STAGE Project and SmILE – Smart Implants for Life Enrichment, the event provided a collaborative platform to exchange knowledge and translate research and innovation into real-world impact. Discussions highlighted the importance of prevention, system transformation and community-based approaches, alongside the need to bridge the gap between healthspan and lifespan. A strong emphasis was placed on innovation, trust, and ethical governance in digital health, as well as the importance of co-creation with end users. Overall, the event reinforced the need for continued European collaboration to build more resilient, people-centred and age-friendly health and care systems.
